Josh

Josh holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Master’s degree in Cognitive Neuroscience and Neuropsychology. Originally from the UK, he has settled in Tropical North Queensland, a region he came to know and love during his earlier travels. He brings a strong clinical background spanning community mental health, forensic mental health, and disability support services.

Josh takes a compassionate, person-centred approach, grounded in deep active listening and close collaboration with clients, their families, and key support networks. Drawing on his experience supporting people with emotional regulation challenges and PTSD, he integrates evidence-informed strategies, including elements of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), to help clients build practical self-regulation skills and greater independence.

Empathic, approachable, and known for his warm sense of humour, Josh focuses on creating a safe, comfortable space where participants feel truly heard and empowered to achieve their personal goals within the local community. Outside of work, you will usually find him watching or playing sports, diving into film and television, or unwinding with video games — interests that make it easy for him to build genuine connections with clients of all ages.
