NDIS Improved Daily Living
Therapeutic support to build confidence, wellbeing and independence.
Positive Moods provides therapeutic supports for NDIS participants who want to overcome the mental and emotional barriers that make everyday life harder. With over six years’ experience, we work one-on-one with you to set your own goals and support you to achieve them, in person in Queensland and South Australia, and via telehealth anywhere in Australia.
What Is Improved Daily Living?
Improved Daily Living (IDL) is an NDIS Capacity Building support. It funds therapy and skill-building that help participants become more independent, manage daily life with confidence and take part in their community.
IDL is about building capacity over time, not providing ongoing daily assistance. At Positive Moods, we focus on the mental health and emotional side of daily living, including the stress, anxiety, low mood and life changes that can get in the way of the life you want.
How We Can Help
Your dedicated therapeutic supports practitioner will work with you to:
Manage emotions and stress
Build practical strategies for anxiety, low mood, anger and overwhelm.
Build confidence
Grow self-knowledge, emotional acceptance and resilience.
Strengthen relationships
Improve connections with family, friends, housemates and support workers.
Navigate life transitions
Get support through moving home, starting school or work, or shared living.
Take part in the community
Build the confidence to join social, educational and economic activities.
Work towards your goals
Break big goals into achievable steps and gain greater insight into your life.
Who We Support
We support NDIS participants living with disability, including autism, intellectual disability, psychosocial disability, ADHD and acquired brain injury, where mental health challenges affect daily life.
You don’t need a specific diagnosis to get started. What matters is what you want to achieve.
Our Approach
Goal-led.
You set the goals. Your practitioner tailors every session to your needs, strengths and preferences.
Person-centred and respectful.
We listen first. You are the expert in your own life.
Evidence-based.
Our practitioners use recognised therapeutic approaches, chosen to suit you rather than applied one-size-fits-all.
Working Alongside Your Support Network
Daily life doesn’t only happen in a therapy room. With your consent, your practitioner can connect with your carers, family, support coordinator and other providers to share strategies and keep everyone working towards the same goals.
This is especially valuable during shared living arrangements, life transitions and periods of change, when consistent support around you makes the biggest difference.
Why Positive Moods?
Specialists, not generalists.
Unlike many allied health providers, we don’t try to do everything. We focus only on behaviour support and mental health therapeutic supports. That focus lets our team build deep expertise and deliver better outcomes.
Over six years of experience.
We were one of the first behaviour support companies in the sector, and that experience shapes how we support every participant.
Clear and transparent.
We explain our fees, your funding and next steps up front, so you always know what to expect.

Where and How We Work
We provide in-person NDIS therapeutic supports in Queensland and South Australia, including Brisbane and Adelaide. Telehealth is available Australia-wide, so wherever you live, you can access the same specialist support from home.
Check our Areas With Capacity page for current availability, or call us to talk about what works for you.
Funding Your Therapeutic Supports
Therapeutic supports are usually funded under Capacity Building – Improved Daily Living in your NDIS plan. If you’re not sure whether you have this funding, check your plan or call us and we’ll help you find out.
If your plan includes Improved Relationships funding, you may be eligible for our Positive Behaviour Support services instead.
Improved Daily Living or Positive Behaviour Support?
The two services are related but designed for different needs. Improved Daily Living builds emotional wellbeing, coping skills and confidence through individual therapeutic support. Positive Behaviour Support is specialist support for behaviours of concern that put a person or others at risk, and includes assessments and formal Behaviour Support Plans.
Not sure which fits? Talk to our team and we’ll help you work it out. Learn more about Positive Behaviour Support
