Holly
Holly is a registered Social Worker in Cairns with extensive experience working in Queensland’s statutory child protection system. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychological Science and a Master’s degree in Social Work, bringing both a strong academic foundation and practical expertise to her practice.
Holly's approach to Positive Behaviour Support is holistic, trauma-informed, strengths-based, anti-oppressive, and client-centred. She prioritise building therapeutic, authentic, and safe connections with clients, recognising that meaningful relationships are central to healing and growth.
Holly has a particular interest in the intersection of trauma and disability, and in supporting individuals whose behaviours are often trauma-related. This includes experience with complex presentations such as C-PTSD, neurodivergence, ADHD, addiction, eating disorders, reactive attachment, dissociative symptoms, sexually reactive behaviours, self-harm, and suicidal ideation.
With experience supporting children, high-risk adolescents, and families navigating complex social systems, Holly is deeply committed to advocating for vulnerable individuals and helping them build safer, more connected, and more fulfilling lives.
In her spare time, Holly values rest and making space for the things that bring her joy. She loves scuba diving, hiking, photography, music, and dancing.
Holly is available to help participants in Cairns.
Fun fact: Holly's middle names, Sauika and Moana, reflect her family’s Cook Islands and Tahitian heritage. Sauika, as passed down from her grandmother, means “shiny fish”, symbolising vitality, abundance, and the shimmering life of the sea. Moana means “ocean”, a central element in Polynesian culture that represents depth, strength, and connection across islands and people. Together, these names honour her cultural roots and remind her of the importance of nature, resilience, and identity.
